New Projects
During Fall 2006, three new campus projects budgeted at over $100 million started construction using a combination of both State and local Measure T bond funds. Two new elementary schools and one new middle school are underway with site work ongoing including grading, underground trenching for electrical, lights, sewer, and building pads. The next phase of work is concrete slab pours and structural steel framing. Separately, a Superintendent’s School Naming Committee was established. Through a series of meetings, a ballot process nominated and recommended names for the two new elementary schools, Colonel Joseph C. Rodriguez for school #47 and Bing Wong for school #48.
