Responsibilities

The Maintenance and Operations Custodian's primary responsibility is to maintain the hard surface flooring and carpeting and to assist site administrators with their custodial needs. Other duties include:

• Doing site visits for Schools that Sparkle Awards
• Stripping and waxing hard surface flooring
• Cleaning carpeted areas
• Sealing new restroom floors
• Providing loaner vacuums or buffers
• Performing floor level inspection reports
• Performing pesticide applications
• Training for new substitute custodians
• Assisting sites with additional custodial help when available
• Doing custodial emergency runs when sites have no custodians for the day
• Conducting primary inspections for mold or mildew
• Doing emergency cleaning
• Working with the City to provide trash dumpsters for all sites
• Assisting in the Williams Case by performing custodial quality control inspections to help all school sites meet the standards set by the Williams Case and supplying site administrators with the outcome of the inspections and their recommendations
• Doing yearly site inspections for the Williams Case at all school sites
