Responsibilities

The Operations group consists of the Automotive Shop (Including the Machinist), Custodial Shop, Grounds Shop, Williams Response / Mobile Maintenance, and the Operations clerical support staff.

Operations Manager's duties include, but are not limited to:

• Plans, organizes, coordinates and supports District wide custodial, grounds and vehicle maintenance, and operations clerical support staff
• Responsible for prioritizing and coordinating duty assignments of subordinate staff to ensure an effective workflow and operation
• Prepares written recommendations, such as, staffing needs, purchase of equipment and materials, special projects, and work schedules
• Reviews and revises work methods and procedures for improved efficiency, cost effectiveness, and compliance with quality standards, polices, and regulations
• Responsible for overseeing the “Schools that Sparkle” program, the Integrated Pest Management Program, and the maintenance of emergency generators at District sites

Additional responsibilities include maintaining compliance with the rules and regulations of several local and state agencies, such as:

• Meeting the requirements of the Bureau of Automotive Repair
• Meeting the requirements of the California Highway Patrol
• Meeting the requirements of the South Coast Air Quality Management District
• Meeting the requirements of the County Fire Department, Hazmat Division
• Meeting the requirements of the County Department of Agriculture (Integrated Pest Management Program)
• Meeting the requirements of the County Department of Weights and Measures

The entire Operations Department exists to support the students and staff at each and every site by affording them a clean, attractive, and safe place in which to learn and to insure that the necessary district vehicles required to support our educational facilities are service ready.
